Escape Velocity
The minimum velocity with which a body should be thrown vertically upwards from the surface of the Earth so that it escapes the Earth’s gravitational field, is called the escape velocity (Ve) of the body.
Consider an object on the surface of the earth having mass m .Let it is projected upward with velocity Ve.Let radius of earth be R.
Consider the Initial Energy of the Object on the surface of the earth.
From laws of conservation of energy,Total initial energy is equal to total final energy.
Thus Escape velocity on the surface of the earth is 11.2 Km/s.
