Magnetic force on a arbitrary wire carrying current placed in a magnetic field

In the previous topic we have seen about Lorentz force, now let us study some of the applications related to magnetic force.

2) Magnetic force on a arbitrary current-carrying wire placed in a magnetic field.

Consider arbitrary shaped  wire of length L as shown in the figure below. Let q be the charge due to current I flowing through the conductor and B be the magnetic field in which the wire is kept. . Thus the magnetic force according to Lorentz law acting on this wire is given by,
