Vehicle on a horizontal Curve Road
We have seen that, while driving a vehicle on a horizontal road, the vehicle sometime slip, this is only because of overspeeding or less frictional force acting between tyre and road. Let us understand the mathematics behind it.
In the figure A below. consider a vehicle moving on a horizontal road of radius 'r' and let frictional force between tyre and road is 'Fs' .The total force acting on the system is horizontal and vertical force.

Horizontal force : a) Weight 'mg' acting downwards.
b) Normal reaction 'N' acting upwards.
Vertical force : a) Frictional force 'Fs' acting as b) centripetal force.
