Ventury Tube

Introduction : Ventury tube is a device which is used to measure speed of  flow of fluid  through a tube. It works on the principle of bernoulli's law.The total energy per unit volume at any point throughout the liquid is constant. Letus understand the mathematics behind ventury tube.

From the diagram above ,consider a tube having fluid flowing in it. The initial point of the tube is having a area of A₁ and let the velocity be V₁ and pressure at that point be P₁. The middle portion of the ventury tube is having constriction so that the area at that point is A₁, velocity V₂ and pressure P_2. Let the tube is placed on a horizontal level.
