Prism Formula
Introduction : In order to study dispersion of light, prism is most preferred as the prism conist of two refracting surface inckined at an angle other than parallel. Parallel surface does not favour desired dispersion.Thus prism is most preffered in studying dispersion of light.Let us understand it in detail.
Prism |
A = Angle of prism
XY, XZ = Refracting side
YX = Base of a prism
i = Angle of incidence
e = angle of emergent
𝝳 = Angle of deviation
r1 & r2 = Angle of refraction
Mathematical equation of a prism,.
